UPDATE Export Australia - Seasonal Fumigation for Brown Marmorated Stink Bugs

Dear valued Customer,

as you may have already heard, the Australian Government Department of Agriculture and Water Resources has announced a temporary period of fumigation of high risk goods as of September 1st, 2018 until April 30th, 2019 to prevent the Brown Marmorated Stink Bug from entering the Australian ecosystem.

We would like to inform you that as of September 1st 2018, all our LCL Export containers for Australia will be treated with Sulfuryl Fluoride (SF).
We decided for this kind of container treatment prior to sailing since treatment on arrival can result in significant delays in delivery of the cargo up to 3 to 4 weeks, as well as in additional costs, such as storage fees until treatment of the container is performed at destination.

As a result, the following commodities can not be accepted in our LCL Export containers for Australia until further notice:

- Food for human consumption (including beverages) and food additives
- Seeds for sowing
- Registered Pharmaceuticals

We are working on a short-term solution for the above mentioned commodities and will keep you informed accordingly.

The costs for the fumigation amount to € 25,-w/m (minimum € 25,-) and will be part of our FOB charges.

For treatment of shipments loaded via Rotterdam or Antwerp, special conditions and costs apply.
